We received this note from Councilman David Marks...
Carney Elementary School has been prioritized for air conditioning. The Board of Education received the budget request last night, and it should hopefully be approved in September. Funding will still need to be appropriated by the county and state. Plans call for design work in 2015 and construction in 2016. Six additional schools in northeastern and central Baltimore County were prioritized for air conditioning, part of County Executive Kevin Kamenetz's $1.1 billion school improvement program. Many thanks also to Superintendent Dallas Dance, my colleague Councilman Todd Huff, Senator Kathy Klausmeier, Delegate John Cluster and community leaders for their support as well. All partnered with our office. This is a great announcement for the community! Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the last couple of years and to Sherry McCammon for leading our PTA Advocacy efforts.
