Message From the President
Welcome everyone, to the 2013-14 school year!
Your PTA Team has been hard at work all summer to lay the foundation that will support the efforts and methods to enrich our students’ success. This requires a lot of planning, changes, implementation and evaluation. What are your thoughts? We would love to hear from you. Weigh in on our platform to help raise the bar and achieve success at Carney.
Please join us and bring a friend! We are excited to share the opportunities and resources available to you in order to foster the success of your child.
The introduction to our new Principal, Sharon Ward left us very optimistic. Mrs. Ward’s first new task occurred July 1st when she officially occupied “The Big Chair” of Carney Elementary. She has hit the ground running and we are maintaining the pace. Mrs. Ward has been very supportive and encouraging while helping us to determine and focus our goals.
Mrs. Ward has expressed her aspiration to close the gap between the school and family. We welcome the encouragement of a cooperative environment where teachers and parents work as a team. This will be a sizeable challenge that our PTA will support and assist in implementing this shared goal. We know that it “takes a village.”
Despite the ‘crazy’ that summer brings, our PTA made time to accomplish a lot in a small amount of time. There is going to be a lot of change everywhere this year. We anticipate some growing pains throughout Carney- no pain, no gain, right? Our PTA is planning to fully support our faculty, staff, students and families to transition smoothly and easily. We look forward to the huge celebration of our accomplishments.
WELCOME to our new families and WELCOME BACK to our returning families! Always feel free to ask questions. I am always accessible and have a great team beside me. We encourage you to join Carney’s PTA where you can positively impact the success of your child.
Happy exciting new year!
